Barcelona

February

BARCELONA - Such a beautiful city to explore and fall in love with so easily.

Day 1 - As you'd expect, a pretty standard day, 2 very eager women getting to an airport that is 20 minutes away from our houses, FOUR hours before our flight.
Even the cab driver laughed at us.

So we arrived in Barcelona at around 9pm (their time, they're 1 hour ahead of the UK) aaaaaand, we ate some sweets and crashed. Thus ending day 1 quite anticlimactically.

Day 2 - We were lucky enough to get some beautiful sun on our first day, which meant that we had a whole day of sightseeing, without the worry of being rained on.

First stop - BRUNCH!

Fact: Sunday 11th February 2018, the first time, in my 23 years on this planet, that I've brunched and I am now obsessed with everything about it. Brunch anyone?

Shortly after brunch the adventures began, with no idea where we were going, we ended up in what seemed like Central Barcelona, full of shops and museums. After many left and right turns (still no idea where we are going) we miraculously ended up at the "Columbus Monument", which was honestly so beautiful, especially when the sun is shining.

As I said in the beginning Barcelona is so easy to fall in love with, the architecture around the whole city is amazing, they have parts that of course, are modernised but there are still HUGE quantities of the city that have kept the historical, architectural feel.

Day 3 - There was rain, but that did not stop us.

FIRST STOP: Can you guess? BRUNCH!

"Brunch and Cake"

Carrer d'Enric Granados, 19, 08007 Barcelona, Spain

Our next stop was the Barcelona Cathedral - beyond, just beyond remarkable and breathtakingly beautiful, from the inside, out.

The Cathedral is one of the most tranquil and peaceful places I've ever visited.

As you walk throughout the Cathedral, you will find that there are over 140 monuments of Saints.
Geese also wonder around the Cathedral, where there is a pond with a fountain.
The Cathedral also dons several chairs and a chapel for visitors and members of the public to sit down and pray.

Day 3 continued - These are just some pictures of other monuments or pieces of architecture that again, I couldn't help but love. (Oh and some pictures of a random night out we had that resorted in my friend and I spending 104, oops).

Day 4 - Our final day.

First stop: You guessed it, BRUNCH!

Due to our flight being at around 6pm, we had around 4/5 hours of final sightseeing to do. So we headed off to "The Sagrada Família" - also known as the largest unfinished Roman Catholic church in the world. Sadly, we didn't get a chance to go and explore inside the beautiful church, but the exterior was enough to take your breath away.

All in all, Barcelona was a wonderfully dazzling, with huge amounts of history, everyone was friendly and helpful, getting around is extremely simple and my friend and I did a lot of sightseeing on foot. I HIGHLY recommend visiting Barcelona, you won't regret it.

Have you ever been to Barcelona? What did you like the most? Let me know.

Until next time lovelies.
